An interesting conundrum. With Herman Cain long gone, little to no talk about simplifying returns, so taxpayers won't need so much professional help. Well, maybe that will change in the next presidential election.

Now that taxes can be made less painful to file thanks to various technologies, it's time to make them less painful overall, no? When tax filing is so complex that it requires special services for nearly everyone, something's amiss.

Well, perhaps complicated tax forms are boosting the economy by enabling jobs and technological innovation. I stand corrected.
