Google Maps 6.0 helps users navigate indoor locations like IKEA and airports. While this sounds good, Nicole fears it will also breed dumber humans who bump into each other a lot, or something.
So there's a silver lining to every cloud, DreamChaser. So long as they're surfing while safely seated and not driving or walking among others, we can relax a little.
One good thing though. According to Pew Research last Friday . . . More than 80 percent of Generation YouTube are surfing the Web when they should be out looking for work or cleaning their rooms. If not for this the aisles might resemble a human demolition derby.
Oh yeah, I feel like I have that experience daily. People zero in on those screens and are completely oblivious to the rest of their surroundings. That's why I hesitate to give people more of a reason to look down.
It's freaking crazy. I was at Sun Fresh just yesterday to get milk and had to move out of the way of some person staring at the cell phone while walking down the aisle who would have barreled right into me if I hadn't yielded. I felt like saying something but I didn't.
