A Royally Ridiculous iPad App

Do you want to immerse yourself in the details of the royal wedding of William and Kate, neither of whom will ever know you in real life? Well, now there’s actually an app for that. How sad.

Actually the app is designed  "for iPad users who have a keen interest in the wedding and the Royal Family." It is not for everybody...

Also I think that an iPad is much more than a royal wedding app platform.

I want the app, the refrigerator, and the iPad 2!

The only thing missing is a "tiara tracker" iPad app.

Perhaps as the event draws closer...

I agree Nicole. In fact, I wanted to mention that if you buy two of these, they will throw in a free iPad! (If you don't want the free iPad, you can just buy one refrigerator.)

You are right, Paul, that's why I assume the app will be a success. But I think it's important to take a moment to think about the fact that our culture is so celebrity-obsessed and discover some sanity. Just because it's the norm doesn't mean it shouldn't be questioned and made fun of. So, yes, I know that I can make fun of this iPad app and feel righteous about doing so, but I also know that it will be something people flock to.

"Do you want to immerse yourself in the details of the royal wedding of William and Kate, neither of whom will ever know you in real life?"

Do they really have to know me in real life? I don't think that has to be a factor. We are living an ceelberity laden culture and most of the folks we are so fanatic about don't even know about our existence. Look at me rushing to to get a Tiger Woods App when the felow may not even have the time to sign an autograph for my daughter.

Nicole these are the new realities of a world that has gone digital and completely different from grandmad's world.

Netflix Learns a Lesson

7|27|12   |   2:08   |   7 comments

Netflix seemed to be a threat to all of TV, but with the current quarterly earnings report, it sure doesn't look as if that's true now. Netflix really proves that even Internet viewing of video isn't immune to profit and other business issues. This is a lesson we need to learn if we want a viable online video model.

one-third of Americans -- obtaining phone records from phone companies, in case it might need them for later use. Edward Snowden, the man who leaked details of that program, also revealed a second effort dubbed “Prism,” which represented a more aggressive grab of email and other communications.
