#9 The extra long privacy notice and/or e-mail scan signature at the bottom of the e-mails.

#10 Not saying if you attached a file.

How about this for email stupidity? Just a couple of days ago someone sent an email to a Yahoo group to inform us that she changed her email because her account had been hacked.  She included a CC to every single recipient, making things very convenient for any other hacker.

Cracking up about the tree line and the "inspiring" quotes. It's so true and absolutely belongs on this list. I'm thrilled to have so many cynics piling on here. Thanks!

Mary you are right on with the Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: emails! Completely unnecessary... take a moment to hit backspace, people.

And, yes, being on the sad end of one of those "whoops, forgot to put y'all in BCC" email threads is quite unpleasant.

Email followed by a phone call is incredibly annoying.

I am annoyed just thinking about it.

11. People who send you 2-3 sentence Word or .txt files AS ATTACHMENTS.

Seriously, folks... just embed them in the body of the email. Simplifies everybody's life and keeps my email MB limit under control.

Let's see... I wonder if too many of my emails are marked urgent. I may have sent a few one-word notes to multi-recipient emails. Uh-oh. Time to take stock...

Another peeve: no subject lines. Leaving the subject line blank happens less often these days, but often enough to annoy.

I also hate email that has been kicked around so much that the subject line "Re:'s" are longer than the subject itself.

Sometimes a sendor forgets to hide the mailing list and it shows up in its entirety to all recipients. That one is less a mistake than a reporter's delight.
