I haven't seen the digital signage yet, but I think it's a great idea. While WiFi will give riders access to similar information, tourists and others don't necessarily have mobile devices at the ready. The idea of integrating information across transportation modes (i.e., subway and LIRR), such as is also on the mta website, is a huge benefit for riders looking for current status.
I imagine in the event of an emergency, the value of having these will be even greater. Well done!
