Trained in advanced Mathematics as well as Software Architecture, Design, Development, and support. Have built large systems for 24x7 applications (multi-terabyte size, multi-teraflop processing, high throughput, high transaction systems, at 5-9's reliability--that's 99.999% uptime).
A combination synthesizer and intuitionist, I often see things well in advance of others and have used this to mitigate risks in development efforts to great effect. It also makes for interesting discussions about where things are going, why things turned out this way, and the infamous "What if?" (I'm still waiting for my personal jet pack they were talking about in the 60's--I guess I'll have to build my own!)
Also conversant in translating between business needs, customer needs, and system requirements, providing a scalable, expandable solution to complex needs. "It's in there (with apologies to Ragu sauces)" is a common response to feature requests for my systems.
Have also worked in definining new markets, new products and features, and defining strategies for products and business using IT technology. This ranges from the tactical (immediate needs) to the strategic (where are things going? how do we get there?) and has helped transform companies and divisions that follow through on my ideas from declining to thriving.
