Joe Earhart has 29 years experience in Defense Contracting with an emphasis on Business Process Reengineering, Knowledge Management and the design, development and fielding of Army Logistics Automation Systems worldwide.
He designed and fielded RED HAT LINUX and Windows based collaborative portals and knowledge management systems and is an innovator in the use of open source technologies under active battlefield conditions in emerging theaters of operation. He has designed and developed web-standards based sites and portals under contract for Major Army Commands in the Continental United States, Germany, the Middle East and South Korea. He has also developed a prototype Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC) for the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (ASHTO) under a research grant from the National Academy of Sciences.
He presently works for a top 25 Washington Area Defense Contractor as a Web Development Manager addressing Program Management issues related to a 2 billion dollar contract vehicle.
He is a professional member of the Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium (NCOIC). He also participates in the Semantic Web Applications for National Security (SWANS) and is constrained under the International Trafficing in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
His passions include Virginia Wines; the restoration of a 30-year old Airstream on the shores of Smith Mountain Lake in Central Virginia; a Middle Aged Man's quest for Zope Zen; grokking the Mysteries of Python; and the practical application of Plone to real world knowledge management problems related to proposal development, enterprise project management and Lean Six Sigma. He is also engaged in the quixotic attempt to write the next great American novel.
He is a who's who graduate of Hampden-Sydney College with graduate work in Experimental Psychology at the College of William and Mary involving Evoked Potentials and some disgruntled rodents with really sharp teeth....
