May be a legend, Dave, but it's interesting nonetheless. The psychology aspect seems real enough to me. Sort of reminds me of a police interrogation tactic.
There is an urban legend about police interigating a suspect. They wrote "It's a LIE! on a sheet of paper and put in on a copier. They told the guy they had a lie detector. Everytime the guy answered something they didn't believe, someone would hit the copy button, thus printing out a sheet that seemed to know he was lying.
The Man ended up confessing. Okay, I did say this was an urban legend, right?

I'm pretty sure a lie detector app actually exists already -- but it's really just a random beep generator. It keeps people honest by accusing people of lying and reminding users to be more skeptical.
Love it. Even better if it wasn't random, and I could just beep it to keep people off their balance.
