Complicated is not good. I've been lured into playing around with tools, just because they're fun and cool, then compelled to admit I am spending way too much time engaged with the tool, rather than with what it's supposed to help me to do.
I've had that experience with several task tracking tools. Could spend a whole morning finely honing my plans for the day!
I'm trying out Dragon Express for the Mac. It lets me dictate text, such as the message I'm writing right now. I tried Dragon NaturallySpeaking a year or two ago but found it way too complicated. However, I've found it surprisingly useful to dictate tweets and other short messages into my iPhone with Siri. So maybe I'll get some use out of the simpler Dragon Express. And either way it's fun to play with.
I've been burned a few times buying indie apps where the developer says a feature is underway. Now, if an app doesn't have the feature I'm looking for, I figure it's never going to have it.
First of all, I'd like to thank Mitch for coming up with such a helpful and interesting collection of apps. I already had a number of them installed on my device, but I was able to discover quite a number of new ones to add to my roster of must-have apps. Coming off from my holiday high, I'd have to say that my nbew favorite is RetailMeNot. I love shopping, I love bargains, and I love using coupons to get more bang for my buck!
Now excuse me while I go off to search for another coupon to use to buy new linens...
No I have to use a different app for that. I can only turn on the machine using the app I use now. The app i use to shut down the computer is called remote X.
