The best comment out there for the Gangnam Style video.

"When in the history of the world has so many people seen something so silly and fun?  This gives me hope that the Internet will actually unite the world some day for something meaningful!"

@Joanne: I agree. While this video was a total nonsensical one, there's a chance of addressing a social cause through a similar video and hoping for it to go viral. That might result in something meaningful and productive.

I guess I avoided the Instagram story entirely because I have been using UberSocial to post smartphone pictures to Facebook and Twitter for quite a while (and even still I am not satisfied with most pictire posters and do the post manually so it looks the way I want it to).

But then again, I am someone who went broke overestimating the intelligence of the public ( to paraphrase P.T.Barnum)!

@Mr. Roges, no doubt, John McAfee's story is not only the "most naughty" but also the most tragic.

NicoleH- Internet is already being used for the purposeful causes too! Remember that project of a nine year old girl Martha Payne?
How the act of posting her daily meal pictures become a source of huge fund raising for the world wide charity Mary's Meals!
Indeed a great victory that was, for an ordinary girl like Payne.

I believe John McAfee story has to be the worst story. Has he gone crazy? Also, what do you think will happen to instagram? I still think people will continue to use it - although pros might think twice about it.

Exactly. Its use who does not use the internet properly NicoleH. If we do use it with a purpose behind our back then surely we can contribute more towards the community needs.

is that it was only about Korea, and not about the U.S. or even Europe, so we had to learn about someone *else's* culture for a while.

Not looking forward to Windows 8; in fact, I'm scheduling my next laptop update to ensure I can still get one with Windows 7.

The US National Security Agency learned the hard way that it can be dangerous to give a contractor too much money and access, with too little scrutiny. The NSA and other government agencies hire tens of thousands of contractors a year to analyze data. Edward Snowden -- who revealed himself as the NSA leaker after fleeing the country -- was one such contractor, reportedly holding a $122,000 salaried position at Booz Allen Hamilton at the time of his departure.

Argument Over Top-Level Domains Is 'Stupid'

The whole Amazon.reader debate is a double-stupid. It's stupid to think that there's any e-book buyer who doesn't know Amazon's URL, and it was stupider to let ICANN launch the whole free-form TLD initiative to start with.
