I kinda disagree with you. All the hype that print, electronic and social media give to the natural disasters, it helps in making civil authorities realize that how worst can it get for them if they dont deliver performance on time and if lives are lost. A silent role by media wont be of any good.
If you referring to people on media and social networks who have started making a joke out of the event, then I will 100% agree with you that kind of contribution doesnt help solve problems.

Thats hillarious. It is such a demoralizing and taunting message for people in problem. It feels like the mayor said 'Handle it yourself, enough hurricane rescue for 911 officials'.
