Amazing ideas and footage of Iceland.  So the question is.....Where do I sign up to move there?  No crowded interstates, no waiting, no road rage.  A single point of focus for my career.

Just proves that no matter how much you think I might think I know about the the world, you learn something new every day. Not just how they are taking on IT initiatives and doing that strongly, but outsourcing. The green element is simply awesome - very clean and the cost savings for harnessing the natural power generating source is remarkable.

Great capsule!

12|7|12   |   2:22   |   16 comments

Many enterprises view high-speed broadband connections as ubiquitous. Yet in about 20 percent of the country, businesses and their employees do not have access to even DSL connections. This shortcoming diminishes enterprises' ability to support their employees.

Locked Handsets Aren't the Problem – Subsidies Are the Problem

Subsidized handsets, rather than locked handsets, should be the focus of regulators. We're not getting good deals, not fostering innovation, and weakening our power as buyers.

That's what Larry Page said on Google's earnings call, referring to the conjunction of mobile and the cloud. Well, let's chart it then! We need to be thinking about an Internet where 90% of our traffic goes to 70 destinations within 40 miles of us.

Price, Not Features, Driving Smartphone Sales

11|29|12   |   2:01   |   7 comments

A survey by JD Powers found that customer interest in product features is lessening as phones evolve. Rather than features, price is driving purchases, and that change could have a dramatic impact on how IT departments secure these devices.

IT Suffers From Obama Admin's Jekyll & Hyde Approach to Privacy Rights
Ron Miller
Recently, the Obama administration has been of two minds where privacy rights are concerned. On one hand, you have an administration that vowed to
veto CISPA and mandated open data for government websites. On the other hand, you have an increasingly out-of-control Department of Justice on a fishing expedition at AP and demanding legislation to let the FBI wiretap private, encrypted communications and levy fines if a company fails to comply.
