I am curious as to the stats here. I was concerned, until I looked, then I laughed. Do the Math, look at the Most Loved and Most Hated, if this survey wasn't being trolled then there would a much more statistical symmetry.
I can only comment here from personal experience, and I admit serious bias here as an Apple retailer! I have sold more Macs in last three months than in previous year. So if people hate Apple this much they are showing it very strangely.
I also do much better business selling a Mac than a PC (why I changed) and I have way more repeat business, people buy a Mac for home, then they buy one or two more for the office, or vice versa. I do agree the loyalty of Mac users is scary, and the way they drag their friends in is almost fanatical - I should complain?
I guess that if my local competition took the survey it would definitely hate Apple. Although I don't think my customers hate Microsoft, as two out of three macs sell with Microsft Office.
This is a classic case of a biased sample. There are 12 Windows users for every Mac in the world. In this survey, the opinions of a windows user has a weight 12 times that of a Mac user. The 12-fold weight of the Windows group will therefore mask the real outcome.
The outcome of the survey explains neither this nor that. The survey is simple media voodoo.
Is it possible that these numbers are as bogus as Florida Election returns? Might there be Chicago-style votor fraud? Is it possible that these numbers are bogus? Is it possible that I just voted 10 times to change the most 'hated' company to Microsoft? Yes, Yes, Yes and Yes.....
It is unprofessional to propogate data like this through email knowing full well that the numbers have no merit behind them.

I have to agree that "hate" is a strong word. I seriously doubt many of the respondents actually hate the companies in question.
As for the survey, I believe it is meaningless. At the very least you should have created a matrix to help readers understand why respondents claim to like or hate a company. Perhaps they've experienced poor customer service, or had a particularly satisfying experience with a product. As it stands, the survey tells us nothing at all of substance.
Perhaps users rated Google because the service is free. Maybe not. There's simply no way to tell. I was an early Google [beta] adopter because of its superior search capability. I now balance my use of Google with other search engines because I find that Google is no longer as effective as it was 3+ years ago. Google's search results are clogged with irrelevant links despite my advanced querying. Do I hate Google? No. I simply find less value in it.
Similarly, Microsoft has, indirectly, been a thorn in my side for the past two decades. I've lost uncountable hours of productivity due to OS crashing and application failures. Still, I cannot write that I hate the company. I may disagree with its methods, and have less than favorable opinions of [some of] its products, but I've used its products for a couple decades now and that has to count for something.
Lastly, can anyone tell me why there is always at least one individual who feels the need to turn every topic into a batlle between left and right? Am I the only one who is tired of it? We're talking about company popularity here, not politics.
Not only are you wrong on ownership of facebook you are wrong about Newscorp being the most biased news organization. Fox seems biased only to liberals who are unable to digest news without thier ideological blinders on.
hmmm, don't you think the word "hate" is not really correct.How can you hate something so imaginary as " company". I like the idea of the poll, but the word "hate" makes me a little bit worried. I usually do not like- not hate-though it might be consequences of English as a second language and just wrong connotation
Hi there. Thanks for your comments. Actually, though, News Corp. owns MySpace, not Facebook. However, as the poll demonstrates, people aren't too keen on News Corp. either. I'm getting the sense that people don't like or trust their social networks. However, ironically enough, we keep pumping them with personal information anyway.
I think it is not only because of the problem of Facebook itself, but also the fact that it is owned and delivered by News Corporation, the parent of Fox News. News Corporation is the most biased news organizations I have ever seen in my life. I don't think the News Corp. does respect the core principles of integrity and neutrality of Journalism if the 21st century.
