During Self-Love Hour here at Internet Evolution headquarters yesterday (approx. 3 p.m. ET) we were going over our site's ever-impressive registration list and grew ever-more impressed with ourselves when we found out that Internet Evolution has registered readers in practically every country on Earth.

And we're not just talking the big dogs. Germany, China, India... welcome and thrilled to see you, as always -- but we've reached corners of the world that Sarah Palin has never heard of!

OK. Maybe we should set the bar a little higher.

Anyway, we're proud to be able to spread the word about the future of the Internet to the good registered readers over in places like Kazakhstan, Lesotho, and Kiribati. We've even managed to snag a registration from the great, great, great, great, greaaaat grandson of a Bounty mutineer on the Pitcairn Islands (hello!).

And... we don't want to drop any names here, but with two readers in Vatican City, we'll just say we suspect one of these cats is a preeeety big deal. (We're talking funny hat big.)

So, yeah, we're basically a global phenomenon. But according to WorldAtlas.com, out of 194 countries in the world, we're still missing registered readers in 33 of them.

And that's not acceptable! So we're issuing a call to action for YOU to help us get readers in Bhutan, Burundi, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Dijbouti, Dominica, East Timor, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Georgia, Grenada, Guinea-Bissau, Honduras, Liechtenstein, Malawi, Marshall Islands, Mauritania, Micronesia, Nicaragua, Palau, Paraguay, Samoa, San Marino, Sao Tome and Principe, Seychelles, Solomon Islands, Somalia, Swaziland, Togo, Tonga, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu to register for Internet Evolution!

We're not content to stop until we have registered users in every country on Planet Earth, so we need your help, and we're open to suggestions as to how to get these missing links to sign up.

If we're going to have a site about the future of the Internet, we want the most widespread readership in the world to participate in the conversation. And we know you want that, too. So go out there, you virtual mercenaries! Grab your backpacks, your soapboxes, and do your part to help us get those 33 countries registered. We'll be checking our registration list this week to see what new countries you've conquered.

Next stop: Outer Space! (Though some of our ThinkerNetters may already have that covered.)

While it would be cool to span the globe, spanning the globe is not what it once was.  I can register a domain in most of the 34 countires you mentioned for a couple of bucks, add an email and appear like I am from that country.

Reviewing some email lists recently I spotted thousands of .ca, .nl and .uk email addresses with US addresses.

So where am I from on the Internet?  Does my residence count as my physical address, the "home" of my email address, the "home" of my blog, the "home" of the company I work for?  Does where I was born come into play?

Does my location matter on the Internet?

Good idea on space travel.

Nicole, what about engaging existing organizations that are worldwide, i.e., United Nations or Unicef, Gates Foundation, Coca Cola?

You could also start a peace thread with the Nobel Peace organization.

Why not think big?

Nations are so passe. What about covering every college, university, and institution under .edu? Capture the hearts and minds of the intelligentsia so that they can lead the proletariat into a new era.  No clue what that new era might be yet, of course.

Well, you could always do an article about using Web 2.0 to verify birth certificates.

Really hope you are being sarcastic, haha. I'm Republican and I will be writing in Nicole on my ballots in 2010 and beyond, especially if people keep failing in DC, like they always do.

Not to worry. I'm an equal party offender.

Hopefully that doesn't just leave us with registered independents.

Of course, since you just insulted everyone in the Republican Party, you might have that many less readers...

In a far away land, where polar bears roam freely, where Internet connections are held together with frozen maple syrup, and nothing but 1980's CBC re-runs are on every Sunday night, hiding away in our Igloo's in freezing August we Canadians are enjoying InternetEvolution.com and all that it has to offer!

I'm happy to be a contributing member to InternetEvolution. I absolutely enjoy the conversations (shouts to Dr.Kim Solez, Nicole Ferraro, and Reiter) and of course the debates (shouts to Mike Acker and Kurtkeys) that we all have! I pass on the URL's to I.E. articles to my friends, family, and colleagues every chance I get - they can't get enough of it.

Keep up the great work everyone... writers and editors alike.

We do a lot of grousing here on Internet Evolution, and usually for good reason, considering the amount of nonsense that keeps this industry afloat on its cloud of hot steamy air!!!! But... we can still happily acknowledge those titans who have succeeded in leading the way or paving new ground in their respective fields and, in turn, give credit when it is well deserved.
