Lol at the cartoon. But yeah, it's the iPhone, there's an app called 'Find My Phone' that helps you locate your phone when it's missing or gets stolen.

pcharles - my tablet doesn't have a cellular connection. It's wifi only. And frankly, I'd rather rely on my mobile hotspots' batteries (yes, I have spares) than on a tablet's battery.

hounhosp - If I wake up in the morning and find that I misplaced my glasses, I'd rather squint looking for my glasses than my phone. Practically the same amount of squinting.

They got that right, unless it is the IPhone. Don't they have an app that you can use on your computer to ask out your lost phone? I could be wrong, but I am thinking that I could be correct on that. I personally would think that they would find a new way to find your lost phone, it I don't think that is in the works for now sadly.

2 questions:

1. Does your mobile provider not offer internet service for the tablet?

2. Does the tablet have tethering enabled?

You can back up contacts, but that isn't the point here. the point is that you can recover your authentication to in 2-step verification accounts...i.e. you can still be sent a verification code to the number you used when making registration.

But just like in the cartoon it won't work. You can't see the app without the glasses.

BTW, I find this list useful when looking for my lost eyeglasses:

  1. Check top of head.
  2. Check shirt pocket.
  3. Check all surfaces near computer.
  4. Check table next to bed.
  5. Check cushions of couch.
  6. Get backup pair from desk drawer; repeat all steps.
  7. Ask the wife.

But you loose all your previous messages and call logs stored on your old sim right? It's pretty standard.

The whole Amazon.reader debate is a double-stupid. It's stupid to think that there's any e-book buyer who doesn't know Amazon's URL, and it was stupider to let ICANN launch the whole free-form TLD initiative to start with.
