They got that right, unless it is the IPhone. Don't they have an app that you can use on your computer to ask out your lost phone? I could be wrong, but I am thinking that I could be correct on that. I personally would think that they would find a new way to find your lost phone, it I don't think that is in the works for now sadly.
You can back up contacts, but that isn't the point here. the point is that you can recover your authentication to in 2-step verification accounts...i.e. you can still be sent a verification code to the number you used when making registration.
