Agreed, and I hope that more than the public institutions like high tech firms implement this option. We need private sector companies churning out data scienists through educational offerings.

Of Course, abdlah. You need not be worried about that at all. He (Robert) is a well trained guy. There are various courses that he has undergone, earned so many degrees to get this Job. You can safely believe him. He has the best brain in the business. He can handle all the toughest and biggest of data. You just have to think over only if you can AFFORD him, since he usually comes expensive. :-)

Well, I guess you have to be big yourself to be able to handle all that big data. Lol!

@SunitaT: my concerns would be about the wisdom on putting my eggs in one basket and whether the BIG GUY has sufficient tools to afford me the most efficient and effective us if my data

Would you feel safe having him manage your data?

@abdlah, why not ? He is the best person to handle the big data because he is trained in that ? What concerns do you have ?

Thats why having the right big data tools, and teams of data engineers or data scientists is important for success in handling unstructured big data projects.

@nathanwosnack, I agree with you. There is huge demand for data scientists (robert in this case) who can handle big data projects but unfortunately there is huge shortage of data scientists. I really hope educational institutes/industry will recognise this fact and take initiatives to create more data scinetists so that we can handle big data.

@Jon, very creative. But the big question is "IS robert big enough to handle the big data" ? because big data is becoming bigger and bigger rapidly.

So was the name "Robert" chosen as a tribute to Everybody Loves Raymond?

LOL, Venks! I think Robert could personify big-data! Much like the Energizer Bunny keeps going, Robert keeps growing.

The whole Amazon.reader debate is a double-stupid. It's stupid to think that there's any e-book buyer who doesn't know Amazon's URL, and it was stupider to let ICANN launch the whole free-form TLD initiative to start with.

NSA Leaks Shine Spotlight on Perils of Contractor Partnerships
Jason Mick
The US National Security Agency learned the
hard way that it can be dangerous to give a contractor too much money and access, with too little scrutiny. The NSA and other government agencies hire tens of thousands of contractors a year to analyze data. Edward Snowden -- who revealed himself as the NSA leaker after fleeing the country -- was one such contractor, reportedly holding a $122,000 salaried position at Booz Allen Hamilton at the time of his departure.
